Ook dit bericht moest ik even met jullie delen. Het is in hetzelfde straatje als het fietsbericht van een tijd terug :) Ik kreeg vandaag een flyer over vuurveiligheid in de bus. Ik kon het niet laten om jullie mee te laten genieten :)

Fire&Cooking
Pay attention to your cooking
Do NOT overheat grease
Do NOT leave tings cooking unattended!
Turn pan handles away from the edge so children cannot reach them
Do NOT leave towels, napkins, or other items near the stove

In case of a cooking fire...
Do NOT try to move the pan
Use a lid to smother a small grease fire
You can use baking soda to extinguish a small grease fire. DO NOT use flour or baking powder
Know how to use your ABC fire extinguisher
Call the fire department

Fire Safety Tips
Make a fire escape plan, and practice it with your family
Test your smoke detector monthly
Keep matches and lighters away from children
Do not use stairwells or balconies for storage
Do not use an extension cord as a permanent power source. If used, do notrn them under carpets or over doors
Do not overload outlets. Do not use multi-outlet adpters that are not circuit protected
Replace frayed or old power cords
Do not store flammable items in furnace room
Handle cadles with care, and use proper and safe holders Do not leave a burning candle unattended, and keep children away from them
Teach children about fire safety
Do not allow flammable storage to accumulate in your home

In case of a fire:
Notify everyone in your home and use your fire escape plan
Notify al of the apartments next to yours
Call the fire department from a neighbor's apartment
DO NOT go back inside your apartment to get something
When the fire department gets to our apartment, tell them the location of the fire or other problem
Let te firefighters work, but be available to answer questions
If you extinguish a fire on your own, please still notify the fire department. They still need to check it out.

When usin a fire extinguisher...
Call the fire department
DO NOT turn you back on a fire, even if you think its out. Back away from it
If the first fire extinguisher di not put out the flames, DO NOT get a secon extinguisher - GET OUT
